The Sideline Fix

When it comes to youth sport, the focus is of course on the kids. But we do need to take a step back to make sure that coaches have all the support that they need to be great. Yes, you can give them more apps, more training, and mentoring.  But it will likely take the one you are not gonna want to hear: You should probably pay your coaches. Being able to volunteer amidst all of their other responsibilities is privilege that not you coaches will, especially depending on the community you’re based in. If you want quality coaches, treat the position as such. Pay your coaches.
